Happy Birthday Cristine!!!!

Today is my housemate, Cristine's birthday! YEAH!!! All the way from yesterday as we were going to Kajang, she keep on telling us that it's her birthday the next day. Then we pretend to have forgotten about it.

When it reached 12AM today, she was expecting that we say happy birthday to her. So Adyssia was the first one to say happy birthday to her as she was next to her on her laptop. Then at 12:08AM, I came back home and she thought that there's a lot of people coming to celebrate her birthday. So her heart went faster suddenly and when I opened the door, she was shocked to see me alone with nothing. Then she told me, "It's my birthday today!! It's my birthday today!!" I replied, "not yet, not yet!" But when I checked the time, it was 12:08AM, so i had to wish her happy birthday. I've never seen someone who's so crazy about their birthday's wish! So as her housemates, only Adyssia and me who wished her a happy birthday.

Actually we've planned something else for her. Since she was reminding her all the time that it's her birthday, we decided to make a surprise, a really big surprise!!! We planned to wake her up at 5AM to make a surprise by making her scared as if there were ghosts in the house. But actually the plan went in another way. She thought that there was a thief in the house and opened my door and killed me! She was so scared and Adyssia pretended to be scared also. We, the "surprisers", made some scary noises and we opened the door and bang it! We even scratched the door to make it scarier! It was indeed very scary for her. She had to open the door but was scared that the thief will kill her, so she took umbrella and adyssia took the broom to get ready to hit the thief (us) as she opened the door!! And when the door was opened, we sang happy birthday to her and she was crying because not only she was happy but she was still scared!!!! In the end we threw her and adyss in the swimming pool at 6AM!!! :P Indeed it's very cold!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRISTINE!!! :)

Here is the Video that we recorded while doing this! :)

Satay Kajang!!!!!

Here I'm back again! :) I just came back from a place called Kajang where it is famous for its Satay!!! So after a boring day, we, Edi, Cristine, Ray and I went all the way from Cheras to Kajang! It was indeed a very exciting trip. It was our first time to Kajang and we took the LRT to go all the way there. It took us around 30mins to reach our destination.

As we reached there we were sort of lost in Kajang because it was our very first time. We had to go to meet Ray's doctor first before we go and tackle the famous satay! We walked and walked until we couldn't find the way and we kept on asking people to show us the way. When we reached to meet the doctor, it was a Chinese doctor specialized in the Chinese Medicine. So I could see all the traditional herbal Chinese medicine.

After Ray's therapy, we were getting hungry and we had to walk quite a long mile to reach the famous satay Kajang. Finally we reached there and we order satay of different meats: Chicken, Fish, Beef, Deer, Lamb and Rabbit. I must say that the lamb is the best of all! :) The deer was not bad as well.

For more pictures, I'll have to ask Ray! :)

Meanwhile enjoy this video of our Kajang Trip! :)

Modeling

Recently I don't know why this has been crossing my mind. It's about being a Model, someone who would pose and photographs take my pictures. Well I feel of doing that. I've done that before when I went to photo shoot for the brochure of UCSI but they didn't pay cash for that. I just got a free lunch.

I just feel of going for modeling and just posing. At first I didn't like to take pictures of myself but actually it's cool when you just pose and someone takes your pictures and it turns out to be good. Well I just feel of doing that. It's not to become popular, this one I don't really care, but I just want to have some pocket money. Since some people says that I'm handsome *ahem*, I think it'll be a good experience for me to be a model.

The problem is, I don't know who should I see for that and how do I apply for it. I'm just looking for a part time job that is flexible and that will not clash with my studies and church. Maybe this job would be suitable for me. Well I've no idea. My dear friends, those reading this post, what do you think of it? Any advice?

FAKE it until you MAKE it!

Recently I've noticed a lot of things happening in my life. Few weeks ago, I've realized that I was backslided without realizing it. Since Emerge Conference, I was so refreshed and transformed but there was a time that I didn't know that I was backsliding from God. I was getting myself far away from God, step by step.

I only got to notice that when I went to cell group in Sunway, which is very seldom I go there. There was Leo who was sharing the warmth time. He was sharing that since very small, he was praising God in everything he does. He praise God for this studies, for his food that we get everyday, praise God for his parents, etc. He also said that throughout all the times he praised God and give Him all the glory, that's the time he became a top student in his entire primary school. It's only until he started to join secondary school and his results started to drop. Why is that? This is because he was getting too comfortable all the time that God has blessed him. So afterwards he encouraged us to share a very good praise report and not to be too comfortable with our blessings, we should always praise God in all circumstances.

I was really touched by his sharing and I've realized that my walk with God hasn't been very good. I've been far away from him. I haven't been praying nor reading my Bible. I've only been doing so in church only. But to pray and to read the Bible is not only in church, but also to any other places like our house, our room, in the train, in the bus, or even in the toilet and so on. I felt that prayer is very important in every Christian living. It's the foundation of our daily living for God. So when I came back to God, I prayed and praised God in every single thing I do and in all things that God has blessed me. But little did I know that it was not an easy thing to do. I started to pray and praise God again, I realized that I was not normal either. I was not feeling myself and being filled. I felt like my prayers were worthless. Some of us would say, "Oh God won't forgive you already!" But no, this is how it is actually.

My life is like a mountain, where I climbed 50% of it, then I fell at the foot of the mountain. I fell without realizing that it until my head hit the floor. When I hit the floor, I then knew that I fell. So it's the same as my own life. I fell off the mountain so low that I didn't realize it. To be able to feel strong and faith-filled again, it's to climb the mountain again. That's the reason also that I cannot feel God's presence so strong as it used to be before, but when you get closer to God, that's where He will draw closer to us as well. Then I remember what Pastor said in his preaching, when you cannot pray, don't depend and listen to your emotion, don't wait until you feel it then you pray, no but FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT!!! I pressed on and pray everyday without fault and praising God all the time. Indeed God is a faithful God and He blessed my life and I've been strong, spirit-filled and faith-filled.

Friends, I would like to encourage you, just as I've been backslided for quite some time, God knows your heart and He is ready to forgive you and renew your life again. If sometimes we don't feel like praying, stop here! Don't depends on your feeling, but Fake it until you Make it! Just pray and praise God in everything you do. He said that he will bless you, and will bless you indeed! C'mon get this blessing from Him!

Kristy's birthday

Yesterday there was the Parachute Band from New Zealand in our church leading us all into worship. It was a great time spending in the presence of God! As usual after service, we just go together as a cell group for a fellowship dinner and Kristy, our beloved cell leader, would accompany us as always. So that night we were prepared something special for her as the following day, which is today, is her birthday!

So here is how the plan went on. All the cell groups under Kristy's subzone, have prepared her a surprise after dinner. So while the others were busy preparing after church, my cell group had to act normal and drag the dinner till late. Since I'm in charge of the transportation for my cell members, I purposely asked the van driver to fetch us a bit late and then I told Kristy that the van will come a bit late.

The 3 gangsters of the night!!! Bobby/Alex/Sammy

As the van came to fetch us, every time Kristy will say goodbye to us and lead us to the van. So as we were all in the van, I've asked the driver to fetch some of us at Kristy's place. When we've reached her place, nobody was there yet. So there was Adyss, Cristine, Ray and myself playing the see saw at the children playground. As soon as the others came, it was very exciting. We discussed of what pranks we were going to do on Kristy. All the pranks were really bad and scary. 1st we plan something that we never did before. 3 of us disguise themselves as bandit and wearing masks with knife; not any type of knife, but sharp knife. So the plan is the 3 of them attack Kristy as she comes in her house. Then as she enters in, we would spray snow on her. Indeed the plan was successful. At first we had some incident, such as there was one neighbor as he/she went to his/her house, saw the "bandits" and ran away! Poor our "bandits", they thought that the person was about to call for the security. Praise God that it went exactly as we planned. Kristy came in and her face turned pale and she was trembling in fear but little did she know that we were all inside and were ready to make her the Big Surprise.

Kristy getting all the snow spray from us as she enters her house!!!

That was the first part of our pranks on her. The second part is where we all threw her in the swimming pool. I think it's a tradition every year, we have to throw her in the swimming pool! It was fun indeed. We not only threw her in the swimming pool, we also threw Chintia and Leo as well. Poor Chintia, she was defending herself saying, "let me go, I will jump myself in the swimming, please don't throw me inside!" But in the end, we threw her also! :)

1st part we threw Chintia in the swimming pool

2nd part we threw Kristy in the swimming pool

Last but not least, we threw Leo in the swimming pool!!!

The end result: ALL WET!!!

There was also the cake. The cake is from Secret Recipe. It was indeed a very nice and sweet chocolate creamy cake! On this cake, there were 2 candles to make her feel younger, 20 years old but actually she's older than that. Hilda also got the idea of writing "Happy Birthday Mommy!" on the cake as Kristy is our role model in our cell group and she's indeed a very good leader. So we called her Mommy in the end! :)

Happy Birthday Mommy!! ^-^

Break Free

Break Free has become a very common word for me. I hear it every time; in church, at home, on campus and on the net. The first time I came across this term, it was the song Breaking Free in High School Musical. I like the song very much because it's a duo song. I've always love duo songs because there's a feeling that they both share. It's the feeling of the song!

The other time I heard of this term was in church during prayer meeting. It was a new song for us by Hillsong called Break Free. "So won't you break free, won't you break free, his love!", that's how it sounded like. The first time I heard it in church, it was a cool and exciting song where everyone learned it so fast. Prayer meeting was on a Tuesday night and we had a special weekend service with Pst Joakim Lundqvist from Sweeden. Pst Joakim is a youth pastor and he motivates every youths to make a difference in their society and especially in their colleges. That weekend there was this song again saying, "So won't you break free, won't you break free!" It was quite fun because this time while we were singing this song, on the LCD projector we can view sequences of anime such as Naruto and Bleach. Haha!!! It was so good!! From that time I started to like amine! hehe...

Today while I was listening to the song Break Free again, this term started to resound in my head. "Break Free, Break Free!" *echo* Then I started to ask myself, what does Break Free mean? So I went to the Oxford Online Dictionary. This is what it means:
"Break free is to escape from confinement or control"
In other words to break free is to escape from something that is hindering you, something that is controlling you. From that time, this word has become a powerful word to me! A lot of times there are things that is hindering us from growing and to carry on with life; hatred, broken heart, depressed, anger, procrastination, laziness, etc...

Friends, this song is about the love of God. There's no escape in it and no mistake in it. It is true across the world, His love is known. My question is, Won't you break free and get up and dance for His love that never ends?

Let's break free and make a difference in the society today!

4hrs class today!!!!!!!

Today I don't know why I had to wake up so early! Well usually on Fridays I have 8AM class. As usual, I'm not a morning person, so I won't wake up early so easily. This morning I forced myself and said to myself, "Today is a new day, Robin you must wake up! You cannot miss another class again! Be mature and responsible!" So then I woke up, made my morning prayer and rushed to the bathroom. I was thinking of making a Milo before I leave home but it was already late. Anyway I rushed to college and bought a Hot Milo on my way because I know that it's a very freezing class! Normally if I enter the Auditorium for 2hrs, I'm already freezing. I didn't want to bring my jacket either.

So I reached class 8:10AM, yeah a bit late, but I wasn't late because the lecturer also came in. So she started to talk some issues about our movie that we were going to watch and talk some craps also until she can get some people to install the movie for her. Well it took 1hr + for her to get the whole thing ready. I just imagine that I could still be under my blanket and she hasn't started the class yet. At about 9:30AM we finally started the movie. Oh yeah by the way, this subject is called Film & Arts Appreciation. You watch a movie, then u comment, sometimes quiz and assignment is given out according to the movie that we've watched.

In the end we watched the movie Munich, quite an interesting movie, but some parts a bit boring. Maybe I was feeling sleepy, that's why. Our class is supposed to end at 10AM but since we started the movie late, we continued to watch until some students left the class at around 10:40AM. Then the lecturer asked us, if we need to go, we may go but we will be tested on this. Some students couldn't stay any longer and left. Most of us stayed because we were scared that if we don't watch this movie till the end, we are not gonna pass this subject which is very difficult to pass. So we continued to watch it until 12PM. Fortunately she didn't continue to pass up her comments on what do we think about the movie as she used to do. For once, she shut up her mouth. Wow! We all left complaining among ourselves and exhausted also. Well that's how this morning class went on....

A place of AGREEMENT is a place of POWER!!!

ChurchWide Prayer Meeting

I just came back from our ChurchWide Prayer Meeting. Prayer Meeting was great!!! I always love to go for prayer meeting. Every prayer meeting is getting better and better! I remember before in my home church, at St Paul's Church, when talk about prayer meeting, there's only a few people in the church who will come and pray.

Since I've joined City Harvest Church(CHC), my perspective about prayer has changed a lot. Before that I didn't really consider prayer as an important thing in life although I was a cell intern back home. Yeah I used to pray but since I'm in that CHC, my prayer life has completely changed. Now I realize that prayer is such an important thing in every Christians' life. Without prayer, a Christian cannot be called a Christian. It's like a body without life and a life without breathe! My pastor Kevin, Keith my cell supervisor, and Kristy my cell leader have taught me a lot about prayer and how to press on in prayer and indeed I've grown maturely in the Lord.

Now I feel like going back to my hometown and share to my church how I have grown wisely and maturely in the Lord and I just want to motivate the youths to learn how to pray strong. Back home when I attended prayer meeting, there were only a few people and it was a boring thing for me. I never understood how come the people pray for our church and never get tired. Now I understood why a lot of people didn't want to join the intercession group although we announce it every week. I remember the first time I went for a prayer meeting in my church, I felt asleep.

I praise God for putting me in CHC as I learned how prayer can change my life, life of people and change a nation. Prayer moves the hand of God. Every time when I don't feel like praying, I've learned one thing, "FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT!" Prayer doesn't depend on feeling but depends on the choice you make. So I just fake it, until I make it! When we all gathered for our monthly Churchwide Prayer Meeting, it always brings down the presence of God so strong! A place of Agreement is a place of Power!!! That's what Prayer Meeting is all about! :)

Some updates after 4months!!!

Finally I'm back on my blog again after so many happening things!!! It has been... hmm... let me count first... hmm.... Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov.... yeah almost 4months that i haven't updated my blog!!! wow!!! *everybody say wow*

Well these are the happening things...................

-EMERGE KL 07-

EMERGE KL 07 is the youth conference that has really impacted my life and it's the greatest conference I've ever attended!!! 3 nights that blew my mind away with lots of fun! Ps Kong Hee from City Harvest Church Singapore came for this conference together with his worship team with super praise and worship!!!

There were a lot of famous artistes and business people. These famous people shared of how God has changed their lives from being poor on earth but rich in Christ and how they become famous and prosperous. Most of them were from Taiwan and Singapore. Ps Kong preached on how to make an impact in our college and shared about the marketplace. It was really interesting and gave me creativity to do more for the Kingdom of God.

Transformers Competitions

-Orientation-

Just after the Emerge Conference, I was involved in the Uni's orientation. Being a student council member, I had to help new students to find their way to the hall for all their briefings. First day was a very tiring day! The day before I was so excited for orientation that I couldn't sleep and I have to meet up in college at 7:30am! Just imagine, I was there at 7:30am and guess what time i came back home? I came back at the same time, but PM!!! I was really tired as I returned home. I immediately took my shower then i went to sleep directly without having my dinner and I woke up the another day of orientation at 8am! Wow!!! The 2nd day was not bad, not really tiring. It was quite fun to meet new people, especially international students. I met a lot from Indonesia. I love indonesian people. They are fun and crazy!

-1 year in Malaysia-

I've finally spent one year in Malaysia. It's not bad after all. I've adapted quite well to this country with the culture and food. I have a lot of friends from different countries and I have quite a good reputation in school.
On this special occasion, my 1st anniversary of being in Malaysia, I've treated my cell group members for dinner. I was so blessed to bless them. Then I shared a short testimony of how God blessed my life by being in City Harvest Church and being part of this cell group. Nobody knew that I was about to treat them! hehe... No cake this time.

-Genting Highlands-

Genting Highlands is a place on highlands, very cold but no snow, same like Mauritius' winter! :) It's a place where we can have fun in the theme park! I went with a group of friends from Christian Fellowship (CF) which are Jonathan, Su Ann, Leslie, Leonard, Joanna, Michelle and Christy.

I spent one night there and I can tell you that it was really cold!!! I think Mauritius is even colder than this because it's been a long time that I haven't felt so good with fresh air!!! I think when I miss home, I shall go there!!! hehe... I went on roller coastersssss.... yeah a lot of roller coasters there, all different and all a lot of fun! The more u go in, it's no more fun! So that's why we change from roller coasters to roller coasters! I had a chance to do Go KART also! Haha!!! This was fun!!! I finally know how to drive!!! No that difficult after all! hehe...

-International Welcome Party

As being the Vice-President of Student Council for International Students *ahem*, I was the chairperson to make an international welcoming party for the international students of this intake. Indeed, it was very challenging for me. I spent 2 stressful weeks in making this welcoming party a success. My target was 300 students for this party as I organized the whole event but I had a breakthrough attendance of more than 300 students for this party. I was surprised! I had to make a lot of phone calls, do the follow up, create my own team for this party, etc.. Imagine I was like Kofi Annan, the former secretary of the United Nations, meeting students from different international assiociation of the college. Wow!!! At least everyone knew how to speak English! So I met up with them and asked them to promote this event for their country mates. At first, they came late as expected so we were not ready yet. But the good thing is that everyone had fun in the end!

-Formal Dress Code-

Last 2 weeks, I had some events whereby I had to wear a formal dress, which i don't usually wear. So I had to bring along with my fashion consultant and classmate Joanna with me to Mid Valley and shop for formal clothes. I had to wear for a launching thing on the net whereby the deputy minister of higher education came for this event. I was asked to be the usher. It's the 2nd time I met the DM of Higher Education in person. The first time was when I was invited to the Minister's house. Haha!! Not bad this Robin! hahaha!!! *ahem* Another day that I had to wear formal was when the Minister of Education invited me to an open house, in a big hall in putrajaya (where all the offices of the ministers are). So 2nd time in a week I wore formal dress and I met and chitchat with the Minister. *ahem* 3rd time, I was asked by the college to be a Model *ahem* for the school brochure. So I had to pose for session of photo shoots!!! I had to wear formal again as I had to act as if I was a businessman. I got to put make up for the first time also! Haha!! I became so handsome that I couldn't recognize myself! Hahaha!!! Just imagine as I say that! Finally last and not least, I had to wear formal again for the Prom Night of A Levels whereby I was the MC. I had never wore formal like that for my whole life! In a week, it's like 5 times!!! Not bad, not bad at all!!! hihi ^^

Me and Lim Kian (SALSA President) and Patricia (MC partner) and I

Well that's the end of all my lately updates for the past 4months. If I'm not mistaken, there were more, but I'm lazy to think about it and type it out. hehe... Please comment on the Cbox on ur right hand side! :) GOD BLESS U ALL!!!

Gaining knowledge

This morning I woke up at 10:06AM by the call of Ying Zhen. She was calling me to say that she will be in college together with Elvin and asked me if I wanted to come to study accounting together. Since I'm very weak in accounting, I woke up immediately and I got ready to go to college.

Once I reached the college and start to revise my accounting, I noticed that I've been forgetting a lot of stuffs taught in class. There are some basic chapters that I couldn't recall. But fortunately I received help from my accounting friends! You know, life in college is made of different people with different fields. So if we don't mix and relate to them, we might not get a help if we are in need. Here is an example of myself.

I know that I'm really weak in accounting because I was from a science stream before. At least that I make friends with accounting people. The more I get to know them, the more I can learn from them. Human is not perfect in all fields, that's why we need to learn from others to be able to be wise and full of knowledge. When people look at you with such a great knowledge, they will admire you. That's what I'm trying to do. I make more friends from different streams such as music, accounting, mass comm, psychology (my field), business, medicine and pharmacy. Who knows when I'm in need, they will be there for me? Of course if you're a good friend to them, sure they will help you! hahaha!!! Well that's what happened to me today. I asked Ying Zhen to help me in my accounting before and today she called me and told me to come, if I still want help in my accounting.

I praise God because I'm learning from friends with greater knowledge. After my previous exam paper, I was feeling quite lazy to get back to study but today, thank God, that I have the strength and motivation to study. Today I'm so concentrated that I didn't even feel hungry when it was dinner time (7pm). It's a good thing because I'm motivated to study and I'm staying focus and not being distracted by other things. Gaining knowledge can only be achieved when you relate with other people with greater knowledge. [quote from Robin :p] - haha I'm becoming a philosopher now! :D

Good Frenchy day!

Today I had a very nice day! I woke up late! hahaha!!! Not very late of course, it was around 9 something. It's a good thing because I had a very nice sleep. It's been a long time that I haven't slept like that. It helped me to start the day in a very good mood.

Today I went to school and I gave my passport to the passport visa department to renew my student visa. I've finally did everything so that I can stay in Malaysia one more year! :) I was so happy that I completely all my checklist for last week. Now it's time for me to get back to serious matter which is my studies!!! Exams are coming soon and I really need to study else I'll die!!!

Today it was a great opportunity for me to teach French again to my friends. This time was to my student council friends. It was a very good thing because I enjoyed myself in teaching them and laughing at their wrong pronunciation! hahahaha!!! The reason for me to teach French today is because my friend, who is the last person in the student council, knew that my first language was French. Last night we were talking about blogs. We were asking each other if we had blogs. She said that she didn't have one but I did have. So I asked her if ever she would have a blog, in what language she would write it, in English or in Chinese. She replied that she'll write in English. I said most of the time I would write in English too. "Most of the time?", she asked. "How about the other few times?", curiously wondering. Then I replied that for the other times I would write it in French! :D hehe... She had the greatest shock of her life!!! She didn't even know that I can speak French! Then she asked me to teach her French on the next day in school. Well that's what happened in today's "French class". The funny thing is that she wanted to learn about the difficult words to the easier! It's unbelievable but I must admit that she's learning quite fast! I can't wait for tomorrow and see if she can still remember! hahaha!!! Most of the time when I teach French to Asians, they'll forget on the next day! hahaha!!!

Well I had fun today! What a good frenchy day! :)

- Blog dedicated to Ying Zhen who's busy learning French :p -

Pop up

There's something that just popped up my mind. No no no... I'm not talking about the pop up window. The thing that just popped up my mind is my friends. Not any type of friends, but my friends that I lost contact with. I'm talking about my past friends whom I knew since I was very small. Most of them went overseas for tertiary studies while I was still a teenager doing high school. Some came back but most of them had their one-way ticket to their land of destiny. These were my cell group friends, our old and only one EL Shaddaï Cell Group!

Friends, if I lost contact with you, it's due to several reasons. I've lost your email address. Some of you no longer use your previous email. My PC was crashed, so all my contacts were gone!!! :'( This is why now I use gmail, coz it's the BEST! It can store emails online and can receive a large amount of email and I never had to delete my mail! hahaha!!!

Well anyway, dear friend, if you're reading this, I would like to keep in touch with you. Who knows that I might be where you are now, in Australia, Canada, Singapore, China or I don't know where you have gone now, please keep in touch with me! Suddenly I realised all the good things we enjoyed together during our cell group: the camp, the games and lots more. Memories are still here, do you still remember? If you do, please send me a pop up message! :) GBU!!!

EMERGE

Hello All!

It's quite difficult to update on blogspot. Sometimes I have no inspiration to write down anything. But let me tell you that there's a lot of things happening in my life. My life is full of fun, happiness and sadness as well. I'll seldom put my sadness on my blog, because I don't want people to feel sad too. So better be a happy blog! :) hehe...

EMERGE - is the largest youth conference ever in Malaysia. It is organized by City Harvest Church and during the conference, there won't be only speakers talking and concerts, there's gonna be more than this! The amazing thing is that there'll be a lot of competition going on. To be able to compete against each other, we were classified as different teams which we call it clusters, according to our universities. There's the Sunway-Monash Cluster, Metropolitan-INTI-Nilai-Taylors (MINT) Cluster, Local Universities (LU) Cluster and the Various Universities (VU) Cluster and I'm in VU Cluster! :)

It happens once every year at the same period. Unfortunately I reached the land of Malaysia on the last day of their conference. This year I'm happy that I finally made it! Here are the competition that we're going to do as follows:

1. Sports Mania

26. Multimedia Short Film

I had the chance to join the Preaching Challenge and the Talentime. For the preaching challenge, there were a lot of good preachers, all young adults like me! I was preaching on Evangelism. It was my first time to preach on stage in front of many people and it was a very good experience. It was not so good but at least I tried. Better to try than to give up! For the Talentime, it was a time to show our talents on stage. The Talentime competition was yesterday morning till afternoon. I was amazed by all the performers there. Most of them were really good, I must say very talented people. This competition was divided into 5 different categories: Vocal, Song Writing, Dance, Hosting and Freestyle. Guess which one I've join? :p hehe.. Yeah I joined for the vocal. I had to present a song without music. It was my first time singing without music and everyone was looking at me. Wow!!! What a good experience!!! I really enjoyed the competition. The competition was a bit similar to American Idol and Star Academy but there were no voting. It's just the preliminaries. So I was number 88 and when the hosts said my name, I went on stage. This is how I went through, "Hi my name is Robin and I'm from VU cluster. Today I would like to perform a song called I believe I can fly by R. Kelly." Wow! Everyone applause!!! I was so amazed and I started to sing. "I used to think that I could not go on..." Suddenly I stopped because I forgot the lyrics completely!!! Oh my goodness!!! Then 2 of the juries who I know, encouraged me to continue. Then I sang the song. When I started to sing, everyone was shocked and amazed that I can sing and I could see them cheering and applause!!! Wow!!! What a feeling! I enjoyed it very much! The reason why I forgot my lyrics is because I was so amazed by the other performers before me and I was cheering up for them. Most of the performance were really good and I must admit that even better than I! Wow wow wow!!!

At the end of the Talentime, I was congratulated by my friends saying that I did very good. Some came to tell me that they were shocked to see me singing and said, "I didn't know that you could sing. You're so good, I hope that you go for the finals!" Some of my competitors also came and said, "I'm sure I loose, definitely you'll go for finals!" Those who were better than me also told me that. Before the church service start, I got to meet one of the juries who is the worship leader and told me, "You did very good, you got a very good voice!" Wow!!! For the jury to tell me that, then it must be true!!! I'm not being proud of myself but I thank God for giving me such a good voice and for people who encourage me to go further. After this, it motivates me a lot to join the worship ministry so that I can serve God.

Today I finally got the results for the Talentime competition and I was not selected. Well I was expecting that I won't be selected. If I was selected, I would be really shocked!!! It's better to be like that. I went for the competition just for fun, to get back this experience of being on stage again and singing solo.

Well that's all from me and that's all the competition I'm participating, it was fun and I enjoyed it. That's the most important thing. At least I try so that I can be better! :)

oh no!!! I'm being malaysianized!!!

Today I've realised something weird. The weird thing is that I'm being Malaysianized!!! It means that I'm becoming more like Malaysian. This is how I noticed that.

When people ask me about Mauritius, sometimes I can't recall about Mauritius. Like all the foods I've been eating, what type of food and spices they have in Mauritius. Another thing is about the places, there are places that I can't really remember. One more thing which is really bad, is that sometimes I forget my own language. I can't even say something in creole correctly. Sometimes when I hear my Mauritian friends speaking, I could hear the youthful way of speaking creole. I used to speak like that before but when I came here in Malaysia, I'm starting to forget about those things. I still can speak creole but not in a youthful way. I do speak creole with my friends but it sounds like the same way i speak to my parents.

I'm used to everything here in Malaysia that it doesn't seem to be an adventure now. It's not a routine either. I'm being integrated as a Malaysian without even noticing it! I talk like then, I think like them, I joke like them, I do a lot of things like them! Why? Let me tell you why this has happened to me.

Since I came to Malaysia to study, it was not easy for me to communicate with them. Mauritians have a different type of English accent and when I had to communicate with Malaysians, they couldn't understand me. Likewise I couldn't understand them as they add a lot of slang (chinese and malay slag) in their English. As a result, it's called broken English!

When I came to Malaysia, I couldn't adapt to the way people talk and to their culture. With time, I managed to communicate with them. It was not easy to make friends because I was not used to their English. I had to relate to them so that I could communicate and make more friends. You know, to learn Psychology is to understand people's mind and behavior but if I don't understand my own surrounding, how would I be able to understand my future patients?

Here are how people talk if ever you get to meet malaysians:

ENGLISH(REAL) - ENGLISH(BROKEN)

Cannot/Can't - Can-not lah

Since when did I do this? - Where got?

Ok - Ok lah

Let's eat - Makan makan (eat eat - in malay)

I can't stand anymore - Can-not tahan anymore

Where shall we go? - Go where ah?

Never mind - Neh-ver mind lah!

Skipping class - Lepaking

Let's go for a walk - We go jalan jalan

AND LOTS MORE TO COME!!!

God has put me here for a reason. I believe that I've been Malaysianized but I don't forget my identity! I'm from Mauritius and I'm proudly to be Mauritian! :)

Churchwide Prayer Meeting is GREAT!!!

Hello boys and girls!

I just came back from Churchwide Prayer meeting. I'm so blessed because every time that I go for prayer meeting in church, my prayer life is getting better and better! Churchwide prayer meeting is a prayer meeting where everyone in the church come and pray. As pastor always says, a place of agreement is a place of POWER! The whole church came and assembled and prayed together as one and we were all blessed by the presence of God which was so strong! We were all praying and praying without cease and it was indeed a great feeling. We all prayed in the spirit and many of us was touched by the power of God.

I never prayed like that before. I prayed and prayed and I was not even aware of the time. After prayer meeting I felt like praying again! I don't know how to explain but you have to come for the City Harvest Churchwide prayer meeting. Normally for a prayer meeting, you won't expect a lot of people gathered in one place and agree together in one spirit like that.

Prayer Meeting is a good thing. It challenges me a lot and my prayer life keep on increasing and it's becoming better and better! Praise God!

Any comments please drop by a word! Thanks!

Updates!!! More updates!!!

It has been a long time that I haven't updated my blog, i know! Sorry for not updating on my side. Some people are really faithful to continue to write blogs anytime, well I try to maintain that but sometimes it's difficult! :p hahaha!!! Anyway, a lot of things happen to me during this period of time.

First my parents visited me here in Malaysia for the first time! It was a very good feeling! I missed them so much. I was so blessed to see them, spend time with them and they blessed me financially and in terms of food as well. Hehe!!! The problem is that they came to Malaysia during the period of my exam!!! Arghh!!! I was really busy during exams and they wanted to meet me and vice versa. But never mind, we shall meet in a different time again.

After my exams was over, I planned to go back to Mauritius for 3 weeks! But first my parents blessed me with a bus ticket to go to Singapore and spend more time with them while they were there. We all enjoyed a lot there. We even met the Sim family! Singapore was a good place to stay! I met my cousin Diana there, and she enjoyed seeing us! It was really a good time! When I reached Singapore, my parents wanted to go to church on Saturday itself, but I reached Singapore too late. So we decided to go on the next day. I wanted to go to City Harvest Church Singapore(CHC SG) as I've never been there before. And guess what? My parents are the ones who asked me if I wanted to go to CHC SG!!! Wow!!! God is really good! :) So the next day we all went to CHC SG for the Sunday service. Wow it was huge!!!!

After Singapore, I finally went back to my beloved home country: Mauritius!!! I returned back together with my parents. When I was coming back, nobody knew that I was coming back home, not even my siblings, expect my parents, aunt and cousin. It was indeed a very good surprise!!! It was my aunt who fetch us at the airport and then when we almost reached home. They dropped me on the road nearby our house, so that I may walk and do the surprise to my siblings. I walked very slowly in the dark of night until I reached my home. My cousin opened the main gate to me and I entered through the back door of my house! After my siblings received their gifts from our parents, quickly went for dinner. Meanwhile I was hiding at the back of the house, hearing them receiving their gifts. As they were getting ready for dinner, they were saying grace and suddenly when they all said AMEN, I appeared and my siblings shouted "AHHHH!!!! YOU ARE HERE!!!!" It was indeed a surprise for them!

My family

Another surprise came when I stayed at home for a few days until the day where all the youth cell groups gathered in our church. So that day was a very big surprised for everybody! Nobody knew I would come and indeed everyone was surprised! Most of them said that I've changed a bit, some claim that I've became fairer - which I'm not sure myself. Then some of my friends said that I'm more colorful than before - now I'm more stylish! Praise God for that! :)

I will post pictures soon! It's just that I'm quite busy these days... No worries, I'll keep updating! :)
