Dear friends!
First of all, happy and blessed new year 2007 to all of you. I hope that this year will be a great one for you. Some of you may find new hope for this year and some sees the same thing as last year. As for me, it's a new start for me. New year celebration may be boring here but I've written my resolutions for this year. I haven't done it last year as I didn't know that I would be here in Malaysia until August 2006. Indeed God has blessed me a lot in year 2006 but there was also some hard times as well. In those hard times, I've learned many things, and I've grown wisely and maturely.
These few weeks I've been really busy even I was on holidays. Today is my last day of holiday, tomorrow I go back to school. Life is so different here. It's busy every single day. Sometimes I miss those times I used to have in Mauritius where I have more time to think and rest. As life is busy, there is not enough time to think about a situation, the choice I have to make is either do it or not to do it. Sometimes when I'm positive and do the things, it goes wrong due to unexpected things such as weather here. The big problem here is the weather, once it starts to rain, expect that there will be traffic jam due excess of rainfall that causes flood. But I thank God that I've learned my lesson to be flexible in time of expectations.
One my first week of holiday, I was really busy in moving house. I was moving out from the school hostel to stay in the condo nearby the college. It took me one week to move everything. Once I moved in, I didn't have time to unpack all my stuffs and clean up. I didn't have wardrobe here, so it was quite difficult for me where I didn't know where to put my clothes. I just got my wardrobe during my second week of holiday.
During my second week of holiday, I was busy as well, but this time in a short term ministry in my church, City Harvest Church (CHC). The ministry is called Ministry Exposure Programme (MEP). At first when I came in, I saw many youngster of secondary school. I thought that the ministry was only for secondary students but it was not. I got to know new people in the church, and most of all made new friends! :) Today I'm proud to have many friends in church apart from my cell group. When I joined in CHC, I knew only the people in my cell group but now I know more people from different ministries and different cell groups as well. I got to know the pastor too. He's a funny guy, handsome, fashionable and great man of God. During the MEP, I went to an orphanage for handicap people. It was very touching to meet those people and know that they are so fragile and they need more attention. I get to talk to them although there were some people I couldn't understand as they were speaking malay or tamil to me. So they thought that I was among them as I couldn't understand what they were talking about. :p hehe... In the other days I was busy cleaning up the church. It was really tiring but really fun. I praise God that I've learned a great thing. "To be a great leader, learn to serve Him in smaller things such as cleaning up."
During the weekend of Christmas, I went to stay at Martin's place with his family. It was a great time spending with him and family, especially the little baby Darell! :) We did a projection movie in his house and invited friends along. I enjoyed staying there, playing with little Darell and watching movie. I even received a Christmas gift where I was not expecting, isn't that great?
Finally my last week, which is last week, I returned back home and I was really busy with the school orientation. I was helping new student who just joined in for the January intake. It was indeed 3 busy days!!! After the busy days, I finally had some rest, 3 days of rest until tomorrow for resumption of the semester.
Tomorrow new day, new start for the new and busy year. Personally I've learned to be busy is a good thing. Being busy helps me to react faster in situations and make the decisions faster. It helps me to be on alert at any time and to be flexible as well. It also helps me to move instead of staying here and to be lazy in doing things. I know that I've been very lazy last year but now it's a new start, I will be move on with God's help. It's not easy but with God, all things are possible for whoever believes in Him! :)
That's all from me for the moment. Happy New Year again. May God bless you in this year and may it be fruitful and full of His goodness and love that flows among us.
2007 here I come!!!
